Shut down your Mac, wait at least 30 seconds (I was working so it stayed off for a few minutes) then restart. Remove/delete the printer from your list of devices. Turn the printer off with via the power button, not unplugging. Just now, I was able to restore function, I can not explain the why, but I can tell you exactly what I did: I too had this issue on an C831, could not for the life of me get anything to work, removed and reinstalled drivers, reset my printer settings as per a few articles I saw, restarted my mac a few times etc.
